Our Desire

To impact the community of Wentzville with the "good news" of Jesus. As we grow as a church, it is our prayer that individuals will "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." (2 Peter 3:18) We are committed to the power of God's Word in changing lives. We welcome your participation and service with us as we serve the Lord together in love.

About Joy Bible Church

Our History

Joy Bible Church Began meeting on November 1, 2003.

Joy emerged out of the desire of the elders of Chatham Bible Church in Hazelwood, MO. It was their goal to plant another church in the St. Louis area. In the fall of 2003, the elders took a "tour" of sprawling western St. Charles County and agreed Wentzville was a growing hub for the area.

Twenty-eight people began meeting every other Saturday for prayer and the ministry of the Word. The first meetings were in homes and in the lobby of a foundry. On January 10, 2004, Joy began meeting at the YMCA in Wentzville. During this time the doctrinal statement and church constitution were adopted, and the first 13 members were officially added to the church roll.

As the Lord continued to bless, Joy was able to purchase our current meeting place at 1404 W. Meyer Rd. - right in the heart of Wentzville.

Placing our faith in the work of Jesus who died for our sins, was buried, and rose again according to the Scripture, the members of Joy seek to spread this good news to our community by love and service, through reliance in God's Word and prayer.

Our Beliefs

Sufficiency of Scripture

The Holy Scriptures are inspired by God and contain all the words of God necessary for man to completely trust and obey Him. The 66 books of the Bible are sufficient counsel for every area of life, and the complete and authoritative revelation of God to man.

Holiness and Supremacy of God

The Bible reveals God as one God, existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator and Sustainer of all things. God is holy, without sin, and worthy of our worship.

Fall of Man and need of salvation

Mankind was created in the image of God. Human nature was corrupted by disobedience to God. Spiritual and physical death resulted from man's sin. All men are sinful and cannot earn God's forgiveness through any merit of their own.

Salvation in Christ alone

God provided salvation to mankind through Jesus Christ. Jesus died a substitutionary death on the cross, satisfying God's wrath against sin. Each person must receive God's free gift of eternal life by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.

Indwelling of the Holy Spirit

When a person believes in Jesus for salvation, He is indwelt by the Holy Spirit. The Spirit fills, empowers, guides, and instructs the believer to godly living. He unites the believers and gifts them to serve God and one another for the glory of God.

Our Purpose

Joy Bible Church exists to glorify God through the fulfillment of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) in the Spirit of the Great Commandment. "Jesus replied: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: love your neighbor as yourself.'" (Matthew 22:37-39)

Our Mission

The Mission of Joy Bible church is to fulfill the Great Commission as proclaimed by Jesus in Matthew 28:19-20. "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

As we seek to accomplish this mission, we are joyfully committed to these founding principles:

  • Proclaim the truth and authority of God's Word without apology
  • Glorify God through Christ-centered worship
  • Preach the Gospel of Jesus with grace and boldness
  • Love and serve our church family and community
  • Rely on God's provision in all things through prayer

Bible Churches

Joy Bible Church is a non-denominational Bible Church. Bible churches regard the Holy Bible as the source of sound doctrine. They stress the authoritative teachings of Scripture as it relates to every area of life. Bible churches adhere to the fundamentals of the faith while addressing contemporary issues. Each church determines its own government and organization and is self-supporting. Joy Bible Church is also accountable as a member of the Grace Network of churches, an association of local Bible churches united to achieve common goals of evangelism, missions, and discipleship.
